As a result the co-working space has expanded within the last year to include more spacious and interesting types of co-working spaces that are unique in their own way. Here’s a quick walkthrough of the co-working spaces you might find interesting in the different areas of Colombo.
Situated down Charles Place, the versatile co-working space hosts a variety of options for a busy individual. From cosy meeting rooms to individual work spaces and even a spacious rooftop enough to host events, Likuid Space has a corner for everyone. With cool gadgets available around the modern building, a shared kitchen and spaces to brainstorm or build products, you can book it for a day or even an hour. They also have resident companies occupying the space and also hosts events which ensure there never is a dull moment. For us the rooftop was a definite standout space!
If you want a unique styled space with a view in Colombo, then Colombo Cooperative is your definite Go-To. With many differently styled places, and corners, Colombo Cooperative offers versatile views and seating and has spaces for teams, meetings and even a works as a workshop space. Having innovative spaces and also offering business services makes Colombo Cooperative quite unique. They tie in logo design, secretarial services and even graphics for an all-inclusive package with a rental as well. So, essentially if you are just starting up, they are a great pick and give you the option to use their address as a flexible desk member, making Colombo Cooperative all the more viable for you.
A bit further down the road from Majestic City, is the Home Tree Co-working space. A rather large, spacious homely set kind of multi-story space which has different sized meeting rooms and different set-ups for teams and makes you feel like you’re walking into a completely new space on each floor. Even with a spacious rooftop, and many levels of spaces along with a shared kitchen, Home Tree is definitely a home away from home for a full team or a lone worker. And that’s a plus for anyone following the laptop lifestyle!
Being one of the early entrants into the co-working space sector, Business Hub has three locations. A space near Jubilee Post, Nugegoda, Deal Place in Colombo and a space in Mount Lavinia. The spaces are very straightforward and although not trendy, the Business Hub makes out in the strength of its community and events which are focused on the community. Housing a few teams already, Business Hub has packages cross location and also puts up details of their members online, so, not only do you get to work there, but also get on their members list too. If you want a no-nonsense place to work, they’ve got you covered.
This exceptional space is not only such a lovely building to work in, but Hatch also offers a lot of fringe benefits for ‘hatchers’. They have programs on investment, an accelerator program, networking, logistical support and even mentorship. Located in the heart of Colombo down Sir Baron Jayathilaka Mawatha, Hatch has many in house teams already and even has a branch of The Commons open to the public. With meeting rooms and even an auditorium, Hatch hosts interesting events and also help with all aspects of business development with the aim of providing a nurturing environment to startups. This is one co-working space we would never want to leave.
